Miral and Dancers is a New York based dance company. Company members come from different movement backgrounds, including ballet, Cunningham and modern-jazz, allowing artistic director Miral Kotb to create works that fuse many different movement qualities. Miral's training in belly dance and folkloric dance in her home country of Egypt appears in several works, inviting the audience to celebrate in the joy of dance. In rehearsals company members explore different relationships and emotional connections, then bring these themes to life on stage. Passion and raw emotional appeal are defining characteristics of Miral's work and serve to engage both the newcomer and the dance connoisseur. Contemporary music is an integral part of the choreography. Miral and Dancers is committed to working with contemporary composers and musicians and collaborating with local artists.

Miral and Dancers had their first evening of works, Glimpses, in October of 2003, at The Mulberry Street Theatre. The next evening the company presented was MoodSwings, at The Pearl Theatre, in April of 2006. This past fall they were invited to share an evening of works, With a Twist, with the modern dance company, Axis Danz, at The Wings Theatre. Other venues and performance series the company has performed at include Dance New Amsterdam, WAX, The Hatch, Spoke the Hub and Broadway Dance Center. The company has been invited to perform for several benefits, including one held recently in Houston by The Friends of Egyptian Children with Cancer Foundation, and dance festivals, including the Connecticut Meets New York Festival.
